The Challenge

Climate change doesn’t affect everyone equally.

Around the world, pregnant women, mothers, and adolescent girls face growing health risks as climate impacts intensify — yet their needs are often overlooked in climate planning. Too often, those most affected are left out of the conversation. There’s limited evidence to guide action. Few interventions are culturally relevant and communities lack the tools to respond.

The result? Gaps in care, rising vulnerability and missed opportunities to protect the next generation.

Our network

Building Local Networks for Global Climate-adapted Maternal and Child care.

Since its launch in 2021, MCH CARE has united over 45 researchers and collaborators across Bangladesh, Fiji, Indonesia, Malaysia, and Australia—forming regionally embedded

communities of practice that strengthen maternal and child health through climate adaptation.

As planetary health remains critically

under-addressed in many parts of the world, MCH CARE is laying the groundwork to expand its model globally — connecting local insight

with international action to ensure that mothers and children everywhere are part of the climate resilience agenda.
