SUMMARY

This study explored perceptions of colorectal cancer (CRC) screening among older adults in Malaysia and found low awareness, with emotional and logistical concerns—especially around stool sample collection—being key barriers. Trust in doctors influenced health-seeking behaviour, while simplified instructions, free screening, and reminders were seen as helpful strategies to improve screening uptake. The findings highlight the essential role of primary care providers in promoting CRC screening and addressing patient misconceptions.
