SUMMARY

This study is the first in Southeast Asia to measure 24-hour movement behaviours in Malaysian children and adolescents using wearable devices. It found that boys, younger children, and those from higher-income or non-Malay backgrounds were more physically active. Girls, adolescents, and Malay children showed notably lower movement levels, highlighting the need for targeted strategies to improve physical activity in these groups.
